This shop has been opened recently and it is managed by Juliano. This is the block where the prison was during the medieval years. At the time, the building was in a dreadful state. In 1357, the king, that was worried because a noble man was imprisoned here, sent a letter to the lawyer to speed up a trial because “putrefactio multa sit, es est domus ruinosa, ut dicitur, et malis odoris...”, the prison was full of rubbish, the structure was in ruins and it stunk. The building was restored in the 15th century but Catalunya was affected by a few strong earthquakes and the building was damaged again. A text from 1445 explains the prison’s visiting rules, however a lot of members of the prisoners’ family and friends, preferred to stay outside of the building and talk to the convicts through a grilled window “just in case they were arrested”.
