Archaeological excavations carried out in this building helped to trace the different historical periods of the area: the remains were from Roman and medieval times, as well as some remains from the 13th up to the 19th century.

At the corner of Carrer Sant Felip Neri, one of the cul-de-sacs of the Call, we find Hotel Neri today. The archaeological remains that can be seen inside the hotel confirm that in this spot there was a late Roman domus, a press of the 9th or 10th century and remains of several medieval buildings of the 13th and the 14th centuries (a market, a shaft and a silo). This building sits were three private properties, which belonged to Jewish owners, sat in the 14th century. They were the former residence of Bonjuhà Gracià and Bendit Gracià from the Gracià o Hen family. The building was transformed into its present form in the 18th century: it has a remarkable courtyard and an engraved façade (1784). During the 20th century, this is where the  headquarters of the "Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País" here.

It serves fresh and seasonal cuisine and it is inside a historic building in a privileged spot in the Gothic Quarter. Weekly lunch menu, gourmet menu and à la carte (it changes 4 times a year).
Neri Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in a historical site. We also have outdoor seating area in Plaza San Felipe Neri and a lounge bar on the fourth floor, “Roba Estesa”. We have a private room for up to 12 people and offer personalized cocktail and banquet service in our rooms.

The hotel was built joining two buildings: a magnificent medieval palace and a stone building that was partially destroyed during the Civil War and restored in 1958 by Adolf Florensa. There is a stunning façade on the Plaza San Felipe Neri side and a stone wall from the 12th century that separates the restaurant from the lounge bar.
During the renovation of the hotel, Roman remains were found under both buildings. They were documented by a team of archaeologists. Phoenician pottery  remains were also found, which were donated to the heritage department.
