According to the scholar Joan Amades, this establishment was one of the places where the cake was good (pa of Pessic). It is an antique shop, which dates back to 1834.

Over 170 years offering variety of pastry and high quality chocolates. They produce their products with raw materials and the experience of many years of tradition.

This cake shop, Santa Clara, opened in 1834 and the current owners, Antonio M. Ribes, and Núria Pagés, bought it in 1975. They continued preparing their recipes and products following the same technique that made this store so popular at the beginning of the 20th century. A historian of the time wrote about their cakes, and highlighted their quality, and together with another cake shop in carrer Sant Jaume, they prepared the best pa de pessic (sponge cake) of the city. In 1923, number 3 of this street may have looked very similarly to nowadays’ patisseries, they sold cakes, but also “candy, chocolate bites, spirits and champagne”.  On Sundays and Bank Holidays, entire families came here to buy tarts, sweets or cakes, like it is tradition nowadays.

More than 170 years elaborate pastries and chocolates and variety of high quality, caring and expanding the range according to customer preferences and season. They produce their products with raw materials and the experience of many years of tradition.

Among the main products is the praline, truffles, marzipan, cakes, Coca of Llardons, Nata ensaimadas the “Cremat cream” and of course the Pessic pa.
