Store reproductions of traditional toys and antique toys. The ideal spot for collectors, children and adults.

This beautiful toy shop will return you to your children days, thanks to Xavier Garreta, who runs this shop. Throughout the years, along the space behind the Cathedral, there had been numerous religious processions, especially between Llibreteria and Baixada de la Llibreteria. From the end of the 18th century, on Palm Sunday, the procession came out of the Cathedral and crossed plaça del Rei and went down this street you are standing in now. A few years earlier, when Carles III was the king, the city patron’s procession, Santa Eulàlia (on the 12th of Februrary) came from carrer del Bisbe and entered in Llibreteria from one of the sides. The Santa Eulàlia procession paraded down here because there was an arch with and sculpture of the saint at the entrance to plaça de l’Àngel, until 1823. This was made in a gothic style, and it still can be seen at the Museu de la Catedral. According to the legend, the Saint’s body was being carried to be buried, however, when the procession passed by this door, the carriage stopped suddenly and it did not move again until a priest confessed that he had stolen a finger from body in order to keep it as a relic. It is said that the sculpture of the saint was built to mark this event.
