Naturice Iogurt has been recently opened and it is run by Alejandro Fernández. During the Middle Ages, this street was named carrer dels Especies (spicers), but between the 15^th and 16^th centuries, the name changed to Calceters. Calceteria was related to the tailor’s trade; however it had its own guild. The street name change illustrates that the commercial use of the street was also shifting. The new denomination did not last long, in 1540 the street started being named dels Llibreters (book sellers) o de la Llibreteria (bookshop). Who were the book traders that moved here? At the time they sold scrolls, papers, white papers and other desk accessories. They also worked as agents in public auctions, dealt with manuscripts and forms, and were also bookbinders. The first reference to this trade in this street is from 1488, when the Inquisition confiscated the houses of a bookseller that was a converted Jew, Pere Far.
